Italmatch introduces Dapracare® OPC-1 and OPC-2, new microplastic free opacifier
Traditional opacifiers are made of solid particles insoluble in water, when these ingredients are made of synthetic polymers, they can be considered microplastics. These insoluble materials are persistent in the environment and accumulate causing ecological issues. There is a strong trend on the market to significantly reduce the use of microplastics and develop products that are more environmentally friendly. With the aim of supporting our customers we developed two new wax-based opacifiers. Dapracare® OPC-1 and Dapracare® OPC-2 to be used in replacement of the regular opacifiers based on Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer to be used in the development of new and modern “microplastic-free” cleansing products.
Italmatch new developments on PEG free emulsifiers
One of Italmatch main fields of expertise are emulsifiers, Italmatch offers a range of PEG based and PEG-free emulsifiers under the Dapracare® brand. The latest R&D efforts of Italmatch resulted in a range of Polyglyceryl derivatives, W/O and O/W emulsifiers and solubilizers. Dapracare® PG3DI, Dapracare® PG4I and Dapracare® PG4C, these ingredients allow to develop green modern formulations particularly in skin and sun care with the possibility to use low temperature manufacturing processes and increase solubility. They are recommended for Creams, lotions, foundation, sun care and lip cosmetics. They can also be used in cleansing formulations to help the surfactant system and as a lipid layer enhancer.
DAPRACARE® PEDS and PETS: new viscosity and stability enhancers
In this HD age, the beauty care strategy requires advanced solutions, using also apps, tutorial, etc. In this landscape the development of new and efficient make-up products is a fast-growing trend. The extreme consumers’ expectations and the complexity of make-up formulations lead to continuous needs for developing new innovative recipes. Italmatch developed two new special waxes, one with the structure of a di-ester and the other a tetra-ester between stearic acid and penta-erythritol. Their performances in improving some key characteristics of make-up products show a dramatic influence on the main functionalities. Dapracare® PEDS and Dapracare® PETS are used in skin care and colour cosmetics to enhance the textures of formulations, improve suspension of pigments and lakes and stabilize emulsions. In combination with some oils can deliver silky silicon like residue.
